Three people have been charged in connection with a “targeted shooting” in Mississauga last month that left one person seriously injured.
Peel police said around 4 a.m. on Sept. 3, a white Ford Explorer, for unknown reasons, was allegedly pursuing a white 2025 Ford Bronco Sport.
When they were on Southdown Road, north of Lakeshore Road West, one person inside the Explorer fired nine shots into the Bronco that had two occupants, police said.
One person suffered serious injuries, while the other occupant was not physically injured, police said.
More than a month later, on Oct. 7, investigators arrested 18-year-old Daniel Emmanuel and charged him with nine offences, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent.
Earlier this week, police said they executed a search warrant and arrested two more people: 55-year-old Loreto Perruzza of Mississauga and 34-year-old Leone Francesco of Oakville.
Both have been charged with accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence.
Francesco is facing an additional charge of obstruction of a peace officer and public mischief – making a false statement. Meanwhile, Peruzza was also charged with obstruction of justice.
