Peel police have identified 35-year-old Kevin Chippie as the suspect and say he is considered armed and dangerous.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after a man died from a stabbing at a party in Mississauga early Sunday morning.

It happened at a parking lot in the area Tomken and Kamato roads at around 4:55 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they said they found a man with life-threatening injuries consistent with the stabbing.

Peel Regional Police said they attempted to perform life-saving measures on the victim, but the victim died at the scene. On Monday, police identified the victim as 47-year-old Kevin McFarlane from Bradford, Ont.

Acting Insp. Ian Plummer told reporters on Sunday that both the victim and suspect attended a party in one of the industrial buildings in the area. It is unclear at this time if they were known to each other.

Earlier on Monday, Det.-Sgt. Gord Oakes said police were searching for 35-year-old Kevin Chippie, of Brampton, in connection with the incident.

“Investigators are urging Kevin Chippie to seek legal counsel and surrender to police immediately,” Oakes told reporters on Monday.

In a news release issued later on Monday afternoon, police said Chippie turned himself in to police.

Chippie has been charged with second-degree murder. The charge has not been tested in court.
