The eastbound express lanes of Highway 401 are currently blocked in Mississauga following a collision.
In a post on social media, Ontario Provincial Police said all express lanes are currently blocked at Creditview Road.
“This is east of Mississauga Road. Essentially, a collision involving somewhat of a jack-knifed tractor trailer,” CP24 Traffic Specialist Lisa Morales said.
“Some of the backup on approach really extends as far back as Winston Churchill towards where the express and collector lanes begin, and the westbound lanes are also impacted through the collision site.”
She said Steeles Avenue or Derry Road could be alternatives for those seeking to avoid the backlog.
It’s not clear how long the closure will last. OPP are advising motorists to avoid the area if possible.
