Published:

Toronto police now say a person found dead in Cabbagetown over the weekend was murdered and seek the public’s help identifying the victim.

Toronto police have released photos of a necklace and a jacket as they work to identify the city’s 10th murder victim of the year.

On Saturday, at around 9:20 a.m., police attended a call for a medical complaint in the Cabbagetown neighbourhood.

They say officers were flagged down after an unresponsive person was located inside a private garage in a laneway near Dundas Street East and Seaton Street, just east of Sherbourne Street.

There, a victim was found with obvious signs of trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy has since deemed the individual’s death a homicide.
