Toronto police say they are investigating after a vehicle damaged by gunfire was abandoned following a collision in Etobicoke early Thursday morning.
Police said they were called to the area of International Boulevard and Carlingview Drive at around 4:30 a.m. for reports of a single-vehicle collision.
The vehicle involved, police said, appeared to be damaged by gunfire and had struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers.
Police have not released a description of the person involved.
