An industry analyst is urging drivers to fill up on gas before Friday, when prices are expected to jump significantly.

Dan McTeague, who is the head of Canadians for Affordable Energy, told CP24 that gas prices in the GTA are expected to rise 7 cents per litre on Friday, to 185.9 cents on average. On Saturday, he said that gas prices will jump another 7 cents to an average of 192.9 per litre for Toronto, the GTA and most of southern Ontario.

Last month, gas prices recorded double-digit drops at some stations, largely due in part to the switchover from the summer blend of gasoline to the winter one, which contributed to the lower prices at the time.
