Cyclist in his 70s struck by vehicle in Etobicoke suffers serious injuries

A cyclist in his 70s has been struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in Etobicoke, police say.

The collision occurred in the area of Dixon and Royal York Roads shortly after 2 p.m.

Police say the cyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. According to Toronto paramedics, his injuries are possibly life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police say.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
