Election night is going to be a chilly one in Toronto as Environment Canada issues a frost advisory for the city.
The national weather agency says patchy frost is expected to form Monday night into Tuesday morning, especially in the northern areas of the 401 corridor.
“Take preventative measures to protect cold-sensitive plants, trees, and crops. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas,” the yellow advisory reads.
Toronto is expected to see a high of 16 C and clouds on Monday before dipping to a low of 2 C by the evening.

While the end of October can be a bit of a wild card with weather, CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter says “Mother Nature is dealing us a very gentle hand.”
“Most days over the next couple of weeks look to be at or above the norm with more dry days than not,” Coulter said.
As for this week in Toronto, Tuesday is expected to see a high of 11 C and mainly sunny skies.
Though a mix of sun and clouds are in the forecast for Wednesday, Environment Canada calls for a high of 16 C.
“Thursday will be unseasonably warm, with the high in the low 20s,” Coulter said. “However, the jump in temperature will be accompanied by the slight risk of localized showers.”
Environment Canada forecasts a 30 per cent showers on Thursday night and a low of 10 C.
Cloudy skies are expected to drape over Toronto heading into Halloween. Friday is expected to see a high of 16 C and on Saturday a high of 16 C.
“Showers will arrive for Sunday afternoon through Monday morning, with temperatures remaining well above normal,” Coulter said.
