A WestJet plane collided with a catering truck at Toronto Pearson International Airport Tuesday night while being towed from a gate, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) confirms.
The federal agency says the Boeing 737 was being repositioned on the airport apron during pushback when it came into contact with the truck.

There were no passengers or flight crew on board at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The TSB said “there was no intention of flight” at the time of the incident.
“We are gathering information, but we are not deploying investigators,” a spokesperson for the agency told CP24.
In an email, WestJet said the “aircraft winglet made contact” with the parked catering truck while it was being towed to an overnight parking pad.
Pearson airport declined to comment on the collision or provide further details but confirmed there was “no impact to operations.”
Video from the airport on Tuesday night showed at least five fire trucks responding to the incident with their lights and sirens activated at around 8:30 p.m.
The extent of any damage to the aircraft or catering truck has not been disclosed.
CP24 has reached out to the catering company for comment but has not yet heard back at this time.
