Police are searching for three suspects after a man was shot at a nightclub in Vaughan over the weekend.
The shooting happened at around 2:20 a.m. in the area of Steeles Avenue and Scholes Road on Sunday.
When York Regional Police arrived at the scene, they said their officers learned a woman was ousted from the club after a fight occurred inside.
Two male suspects allegedly confronted security and brandished a firearm, which was discharged and struck a male patron of the club.
Speaking to CP24 at the scene on Sunday, Staff Sgt. Peter Chung identified the victim as an employee, adding that the shooting stemmed from a prior “dispute.”
He was sent to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspects ran away while firing additional rounds at the club.
“Fortunately, no patrons were struck or sustained any physical injuries,” York police said in a news release.
Investigators are searching for three suspects.
Police describe the first suspect as an approximately 20-year-old man with dreadlocks or braids, who is between five-foot-two and five-foot-seven. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, a baseball cap with a white letter “B” and was carrying a black satchel.
The second male suspect is described by police as being between five-foot-four and five-foot-nine, roughly 20 years old with a small afro. They add that he was last seen wearing a black jersey-style shirt.
Investigators describe the third suspect as a woman with long hair, who was last seen wearing a white dress with fishnet straps.
Police are asking anyone with information or footage from the shooting to contact them, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
