A 30-year-old man accused of targeting seniors in a snow-removal scheme is facing new charges for allegedly conning a restaurant.

Toronto police say a man entered into a contract with the owner of a North York restaurant to provide menus, signs and other advertising materials, claiming he was a graphic designer.

The restaurant paid a deposit, but the man didn't do the work, police say.

Further investigation led police to lay charges of fraud under $5,000 and failing to comply with a recognizance against Toronto resident Elman Iakhiiaev on Sunday.

Iakhiiaev is already facing 100 counts of fraud under $5,000 for his alleged role in a prepaid snow-removal scheme.

Police say a man offered to clear snow at homes, taking payments of up to $180, but didn't bother to do the work.
