TORONTO - The name of a 30-year-old man killed in an incident with police at the Toronto Caribbean Carnival has been released.

Ontario's Special Investigations Unit says Kevin Murray, of Ajax, Ont., died of a gunshot injury Saturday night, about an hour after the annual parade ended.

The SIU is automatically called in when police involvement in a situation results in death or serious injury.

Megan Martin, 21, of Pickering, Ont., and Amit Boodram, 18, of Toronto, also suffered gunshot wounds in the incident, which occurred along the festival's parade route.

The SIU says it has talked to 21 witnesses so far and is confident more people will come forward.

Huge crowds lined the parade route Saturday afternoon. The carnival, formerly known as Caribana, is touted as the largest festival of Caribbean culture in North America.
