Concerns are being raised about exposure to HIV and hepatitis at a Mississauga tattoo parlour on Tuesday.

Peel Region health officials say regular inspections at Moonshin Tattoo have not been done, and anyone who had tattoo work or piercings done at the shop in the last four years should get blood work done.

Officials are blaming poor record keeping and a lack of oversight at the shop, located at 95 Dundas St. W. near Hurontario Street. The shop also has not been keeping proper sterilization records.

Officials say up to 3,000 people may be have been exposed to HIV and hepatitis, but they say the risk of infection is low.

The health warning is for customers from March 2005 to February 2009.
