BRADENTON, Fla. - Jose Bautista went 3 for 3 with two doubles against his old team and Ricky Romero pitched four scoreless innings as the Toronto Blue Jays blanked the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-0 Sunday.
Romero struck out six and allowed just one hit, a groundball single up the middle by Pedro Alvarez in the first inning.
Bautista scored twice and drove in a run.
Pirates starter James McDonald allowed four runs and four hits in 2 2-3 innings. He was pulled when his pitch count reached the target range of 50 to 55.
