Police officials in New York City say a truck driver was fortunate to escape injury when his vehicle crashed through a wall and dangled above the ground Wednesday morning.

The sanitation truck crashed through the third-floor wall of a garage in Queens, showering a parking lot with bricks that caused significant damage to several parked vehicles.

Some of the vehicles were crushed by the debris.

No serious injuries were reported.

Firefighters rescued a man from the truck as it dangled above the ground. He was being treated for minor injuries to his neck and back.

Reports indicate the man is employed by the New York City Department of Sanitation.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. It's not known if charges will be laid.
