Highway 403’s eastbound lanes were shut down at Dundas Street in Oakville for about five hours after a tractor-trailer lost part of its load of cocoa early Thursday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police initially said the lanes may be closed through the morning commute as crews cleaned up the scene of the mishap, but the lanes reopened earlier than expected at about 5:50 a.m.

Police said no one was injured in the 1 a.m. incident.

OPP are investigating whether the tractor-trailer was cut off by a vehicle.

According to reports from the scene, the tractor-trailer's driver hit the brakes when the vehicle was cut off on the highway, causing the load to shift and part of the trailer to collapse.
