Police are planning to address students at two schools on Thursday, a day after the one-month anniversary of the mysterious disappearance of 17-year-old Mariam Makhniashvili.

The presentations are scheduled to take place at a pair of schools where the teen’s backpack was discovered last week.

Mariam was last seen on Sept. 14 at Forest Hill Collegiate as she dropped her brother off at school. Her backpack – with an uneaten lunch and school books inside -- was discovered last Thursday in the Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue area.

Since she disappeared, officers have been going door to door in the neighbourhood canvassing for information. They’ve been putting up posters in local stores -- in hopes of finding-out what has happened to the girl.

Police will appeal to students at Northern Secondary School at about 8:30 a.m., and then they’ll make a presentation at North Toronto Collegiate at 11 a.m.
