TORONTO - Real-life royalty will open an exhibit featuring Grace Kelly's home movies, letters and photos in Toronto next month.
Organizers of "Grace Kelly: From Movie Star to Princess" say Kelly's newlywed son, Prince Albert II of Monaco, and his wife Princess Charlene will attend a grand opening event on Nov. 2 and a private reception.
The exhibit opens to the public Nov. 4 at TIFF Bell Lightbox.
It features rarely-displayed items and artifacts from Kelly's days as a leading lady in Hollywood and as princess of one of Europe's oldest royal families.
TIFF director Piers Handling says it is an honour to welcome the royal couple.
The exhibit, based on similar ones held in Monaco and London, runs until Jan. 22, 2012.
It includes many of Kelly's original dresses, a replica of her wedding gown, her signature "Kelly bag" and tiara, telegrams from Prince Rainier and her Academy Award for "The Country Girl."
"To have Prince Albert and Princess Charlene open the exhibition is a great privilege," Handling said Monday in a release.
