A Toronto woman was in court today facing first degree murder charges in the death of her former boyfriend.
Nicola Puddicombe is accused of killing former boyfriend Dennis Hoy.
Puddicombe was part of a love triangle at the time of Hoy’s death and is the second person to be tried in his murder. Earlier this year, her lover faced the court and won an acquittal.
Prosecutors allege Puddicombe was having an affair with another woman and wanted Hoy dead to cash in on his insurance policy.
Today the court heard the accused say Hoy was murdered while she was in the shower. But police say her hair and the shower were bone dry when they arrived.
