A woman linked to golfer Tiger Woods has cancelled a news conference she had planned to hold Thursday afternoon.

New York nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel has denied having an affair with Woods. Uchitel’s lawyer was expected to make a statement about her client's relationship with the golf great at 3:20 p.m. ET. in Los Angeles.

However, a statement was issued Thursday morning saying it had been cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances... There will be no further statements on this matter.”

Woods first hit the news last week when he hit a fire hydrant with his SUV. It emerged that he may have been fighting with his wife due to allegations he has been seeing other women.

Three women have now been linked to the golfer, although none have been proven to be his mistress. The most recent is a 27-year-old marketing manager from Las Vegas.

The golfer reportedly met her in a hotel room there in October and complained about his marriage and other pressures.

So far, Woods’ sponsors say they will stick with him. He was the first athlete to surpass $1 billion in earnings, much of that from endorsements.
