A new attraction at Toronto's CN Tower will give thrill seekers a chance to walk on the wild side.
With breathtaking views of Toronto and Lake Ontario, EdgeWalk will allow people to walk around the outdoor edge of the tower's main pod, about 350 metres or 116 storeys above the ground.
The extreme, open-air attraction is the first of its kind in North America and it marks the CN Tower's 35th anniversary.
Starting this summer, adrenaline junkies can walk "hands free" in groups of six to eight on a 1-5-metre ledge while attached to an overhead safety rail via a trolley and harness system.
The system means people can lean back and safely balance over the ground below, if they dare, officials said.
"The tower has a history of innovation and legacy and this was just the next step in our evolution," said Chief Operating Officer of the CN Tower Jack Robinson. "It's going to be a thrill for adventure seekers and for people that want to get into the bucket list mode."
Every aspect of EdgeWalk, from the design and build to the attraction logistics and operation, has been developed with the utmost safety and security in mind, Robinson said.
EdgeWalk is set to open Aug. 1 and will operate each year from May until October.
Tickets will cost $175 and will include a keepsake video, photo and certificate of achievement.
CP24 will be giving away tickets in an exclusive contest next month.
