CALEDON, Ont. - Provincial police say the body of a missing 21-year-old kayaker has been recovered from the Credit River in Caledon, Ont.

Police say the body of Zachary Michael Sutherland of Georgetown, Ont., was located around noon on Tuesday.

OPP had been searching for Sutherland since Sunday when the body of 21-year-old Kaya Melanie Firth of Georgetown was found in the river.

The University of Guelph issued a statement on Monday expressing sympathy for the families of the two students.

Firth was a third-year English student and Sutherland, her boyfriend, was a fourth-year commerce major at the university.

University officials said campus flags would be lowered to half-mast in honour of the students.
