A 29-year-old man who is facing charges in connection with a deadly crash in Vaughan that left three children and their grandfather dead told police officers at the scene that he was “coming from a friend’s house,” a source confirms to CP24.

Police have previously said that the driver t-boned a van in the intersection of Kirby Road and Kipling Avenue, near Kleinburg at around 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Gary Neville, 65, was pronounced dead on scene while his three grandchildren, ages nine, five and two, were rushed to hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The children have since been identified as siblings Daniel Neville-Lake, Harry Neville-Lake and Milly Neville-Lake.

Marco Muzzo faces 18 charges in connection with the crash, including four counts of impaired driving causing death, four counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.
