A man and woman were rushed to a hospital trauma centre with serious injuries after a shooting in downtown Toronto on Sunday night.

Toronto paramedics said a man and woman suffered serious injuries after they were shot near 100 Simcoe Street, near the intersection of Simcoe and Adelaide streets, just before 10 p.m. Sunday.

Toronto police tweeted that two male suspects were seen in the area wearing masks. At least one Toronto police canine unit was seen searching nearby streets just before 11 p.m. Sunday.
