A 43-year-old man has been pronounced dead after being pinned between a cargo van and the wall of a building in Brampton on Wednesday morning, Peel police confirm.

The collision occurred in a parking lot outside an automobile auction house on Auction Lane, near Queen Street and Goreway Drive, at about 10 a.m.

Police said the man was rushed to a hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The impact of the collision caved in part of the building’s exterior wall.

"There is a very extensive investigation to be done by our Major Collisions Bureau with lots of witnesses involved and at the conclusion of that they will decide whether there are charges to be laid," Const. Erin Cooper told CP24.

People were preparing for an auction at the time of the collision and the victim was a customer, Cooper added.

He is believed to be from Stoufville.
