A man wanted in connection with a daytime shooting in January has been arrested in Winnipeg.

On Jan. 5, shortly before 12:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at 121 Humber Blvd, in the Black Creek Drive and Weston Road area.

According to police, two men entered the building’s courtyard, where they shot a man multiple times after beginning a conversation.

The two men were last seen fleeing the area in a black or grey Ford Edge sport utility vehicle.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old Guled Jimaleh, of Toronto, in connection with the shooting.

In a release issued Friday morning, police confirmed that Jimaleh was located and arrested by police in Winnipeg on April 21.

He faces a total of nine charges, including attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon.

He appeared in court in Toronto on April 27.

Investigators continue to try to identify a second suspect in connection with the shooting.

He is described as black with a light complexion, six foot one to six foot five, clean shaven, with short hair and brown eyes.
