One of the victims in a deadly collision in North York over the weekend has been identified as a 21-year-old hospitality student at Seneca College’s Markham campus.

The accident happened near Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.

According to police, an Acura was travelling southbound at a high rate of speed when it collided with a Mercedes Benz. The vehicle then lost control, struck another vehicle and hit a light standard, ejecting four out of the five occupants.

The 21-year-old woman as well as a 19-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene while two men were rushed to hospital, one in life-threatening condition.

Police have not yet released the names of the victims; however on Tuesday the family of the 21-year-old woman killed in the wreck identified her as Ravina Budhooram.

Budhooram's father also told CTV News that his daughter was in her last year at Seneca College and had previously interned for the Marriott chain of hotels. He described her as a “Kind hearted girl that left an impression on everyone she met."

Police still looking for Good Samaritans

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision; however they have previously said that speed did play a factor.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police are also hoping to speak with two men who helped pulled one of the victims out the wreck but left the area before officers arrived.

One of the men is believed to go by the name “Tony,” according to police.

“Apparently they went right into the car to get this individual out,” Const. Clint Stibbe told CP24 on Tuesday. “We want to find out what they did so we can paint an entire picture of the situation moments after the crash. In the end we are searching for the truth and they can help us get there.”

The man who was pulled from the wreck by the Good Samaritans remains in hospital in life-threatening condition.

Stibbe has previously said that it is “touch and go” as to whether he will survive.
