ST. CATHARINES, Ont. -- Two men have been charged after police were called to a St. Catharines bar after reports of gunshots.
Police say it's believed a disturbance began among patrons inside the Cache bar restaurant (on James Street) in the city's downtown around 2:30 a.m. Friday and then moved outside behind the building.
They say a suspect then fired some shots but no one was injured.
Investigators have recovered a handgun -- but don't believe it was the one that was fired.
Two St. Catharines men face firearms charges in connection with the gun seized by police.
Twenty-nine-year-old Christopher Pineda and 21-year-old Edson Neto are each charged with careless storage of a firearm, while Neto faces an additional charge of breach of probation.
The men are scheduled for a bail hearing today in St. Catharines.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
