Yorkdale Shopping Centre issued the following statement Saturday after a man was wounded in an early-morning shooting:

"Early this morning, shortly after midnight and several hours after the shopping centre closed, there was a shooting outside of Yorkdale.

Police and emergency services were quickly onsite to secure the area.

Like all Torontonians, we are concerned about gun violence and saddened when such incidents occur in our city.

We are cooperating with police and want to thank Toronto Police Service and emergency services for their rapid response.

We urge anyone with any knowledge of this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.

Yorkdale Shopping Centre will open today for regular business hours.

The restaurant JOEY Yorkdale will be closed until further notice, pending the police investigation.

All enquires about the incident should be directed to Toronto Police Service as it would be inappropriate for us to comment on a police investigation."
