Two men have been wounded, one critically, in separate shootings at the same Etobicoke apartment building on Tuesday.

The incidents occurred at a building at 2063 Islington Ave., located north of Dixon Road.

Police say the first shooting occurred at around 3:15 p.m. and the victim, who is believed to be in his 20s, was conscious and breathing when he was transported to hospital in serious condition.

Shell casings were found in a stairwell and paramedics say the man was reportedly shot more than once. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Currently we are trying piece together the events that led up to the incident that occurred here today," Sgt. John Durbreuil told CP24 at the scene on Tuesday afternoon.

Hours later, a second man suffered critical injuries in a shooting at the same address.

Paramedics say the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and has been taken to a trauma centre.

The victim, according to Toronto Paramedic Services, was shot in the arm, leg and possibly the head.

Police have not said whether the two incidents are connected and have not released suspect information in either case.
