Homicide police are investigating the city's latest murder after five people were shot in two separate incidents early Saturday morning. 

One person was shot dead inside a bar at the Peanut Plaza -- a retail strip on Don Mills Road near Sheppard Avenue -- just before 3 a.m. Two others were wounded in the gunfight but they are expected to survive their injuries, police say. Two people were seen fleeing the scene but so far, detectives have not identified any suspects.

Earlier Saturday, police rushed to the scene of a shooting near Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue. Two men were reportedly shot from the northwest corner of the intersection at around 1 a.m.. One person was wounded in the arm while the other was shot in the abdomen. Both of their injuries are considered to be non life-threatening.

Police spent the night at the scene collecting evidence. No arrests have been made.
