Ontario has recorded a third H1N1 flu death.

The latest numbers show 264 new cases since Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 2,528.

As of Thursday, 20 people who have the H1N1 flu virus were in hospital, although health officials said a number of those people have underlying medical conditions.

Most of the people who were infected with the virus have reported symptoms similar to those of seasonal influenza and have recovered.

The province said Friday that the three people with the H1N1 virus who died also had chronic medical conditions.

The average age of patients with the illness has been 21, while the ages have ranged from less than 12-months-old to 80-years-old.
