Police officers hit by vehicle

Two police officers traveling on bicycles were struck by an SUV in related incidents at Yonge-Dundas Square today.

The first officer was cut off by the SUV on Dundas Street around 4:30 p.m. Police say the officer subsequently pulled over the vehicle, but the driver sped off a short time later, knocking the officer onto the ground and dragging his bike 30 metres. At that point the vehicle continued along Dundas Street before turning onto Yonge where it encountered another officer travelling by bicycle. According to police the vehicle then sped up, hitting the officer.

Both officers were transported to St. Michael's hospital, but their injuries are not considered to be serious.

Two suspects were arrested nearby on Shutter Street after a short foot chase.

Traffic services is investigating.

Fake handgun used in threatening incident

A 33-year-old Milton man faces a number of charges in connection with an incident at an employment agency in Milton Thursday morning.

According to police, staff at a Main Street employment agency met the suspect to discuss employment issues at around 10:45 a.m.

During the course of discussions, the man made threatening comments to staff.

As the suspect was being led out of the building, police allege he produced a handgun and pointed it at a security guard.

The male fled the scene, but was located and arrested by police a short time later.

The gun was later identified as a replica by police.

Luigi Indorato, 33, of Milton, faces a number of charges, including uttering death threats, three counts of assault and carrying a concealed weapon.

Burlington man arrested for sex assault

A 61-year-old man faces charges after he allegedly exposed himself at a Burlington townhouse complex.

The suspect, 61-year-old Azad Keval of Burlington, is charged with sexual assault, performing an indecent act and theft under $5,000.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Milton on Oct. 11.

Motorcyclist injured in Brampton accident

A motorcyclist is in hospital in serious condition after a collision with a car in Brampton Friday morning.

Police said the accident happened on Williams Parkway near Highway 410.

The 53-year-old driver of the motorcycle was initially listed in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to serious.

Williams Parkway has reopened.

Police are currently investigating the incident.
