Police search for sexual assault suspect

Toronto police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in a store checkout line Friday.

The man was in line behind the girl at a store in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton area when he squirted her with table syrup around 3 p.m.

Police say he then sexually assaulted her under the guise of helping her clean up.

He is described as white, short and in his late 30s.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, navy-blue baggy cargo shorts and black shoes.

Armed man arrested following fight with police

A 22 year-old Toronto man is facing charges after he was found in possession of a loaded .22 calibre hand gun and a quantity of drugs following a scuffle with police.

The man was approached by officers on Grandravine Drive near Jane Street and Finch Avenue at about 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

According to police a fight then ensued between the man and the officers.

Mackel Peterkin, of Toronto, is facing eight drug and firearm related charges.

He made his first court appearance Sunday.

Man charged in TTC assault

Toronto police have made an arrest in connection with a sexual assault on a TTC bus.

The incident is alleged to have happened on a westbound bus on Eglinton Avenue on the morning of August 7.

Rudranathan Naganatharaj, 54, faces one charge of sexual assault. He'll appear in court at College Park September 27 at 2 p..m.

He was arrested Saturday after police released surveillance camera footage of the suspect to the public.
