Wintry weather wreaks havoc in Grimsby

Ontario Provincial Police briefly closed the Fort Erie-bound QEW is at Christie Street in Grimsby after multiple collisions in "snowy" weather Friday morning.

The collisions occurred as whiteout conditions were making driving conditions treacherous, police told CP24.

Niagara Regional Police Service told OPP about six separate collisions occurred at the ramps at the QEW and Christie.

Police closed the Fort Erie-bound lanes for about 45 minutes, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Environment Canada's forecast predicted heavy flurries for Niagara Region on Friday morning.
