NEWMARKET, Ont. - The funeral for the York Regional Police officer killed during a traffic stop north of Toronto will be held Tuesday in Newmarket.

The York Regional Police Association says the viewing for Const. Garrett Styles will be held Monday between 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Jerrett's Funeral Home in Thornhill. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 1pm at the Ray Twinney Centre.

Styles died in hospital Tuesday after being dragged for 300 metres and pinned beneath a Dodge Caravan driven by a 15-year-old boy that he'd stopped on Highway 48.

As he lay dying and called for help on his police radio, Styles can be heard saying he had a van on his waist and it hurts.

The driver, who police say had three teenaged passengers in the car, is in Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children with serious injuries.

York Regional Police officers are back today at the scene of the crash looking for witnesses while the public continues to put flowers and teddy bears outside the detachment where Styles worked.
