Ontario emergency officials have lifted the "red alert" warning for central Ontario.

All weather watches and warnings have also been lifted for the region.

The alert was issued at around 9:30 a.m. for the regions of Port Carlin, Port Severn, Parry Sound, Rosseau and Killbear Park. The emergency warning ended at 10:30 a.m.

Motorists, boaters and residents were asked to seek shelter indoors immediately as severe weather moved into the area.

This is the second time this week that Ontario has fired off the emergency signal. On Wednesday afternoon, officials issued a red alert in Midland, Ont. before a tornado moved in and caused major damage in the area.
