The TTC is moving ahead with its Transit City vision as plans to build a Sheppard East line are set to go ahead, reports say.

The LRT line will break ground in September if promised provincial funding makes its way to the TTC.

It's just one of seven proposed lines aimed to bring Euro-style transit to Toronto with more streetcars along more routes.

Engineers are now trying to figure out how to link the light rail lines with existing subway lines, and how the vehicles will run.

Reports say plans are moving ahead relatively smoothly and quickly due to a shorter environmental assessment process and the province's commitment to public transit.
