A man in his 40s is recovering in a Toronto hospital after being shot at point-blank range in the chest and leg late Tuesday night.

Toronto police said the man was shot on Marsh Grass Way, near Jane Street and Finch Avenue, at about 11:30 p.m.

Two men were talking when they were approached by three men. Some kind of an altercation occurred, resulting in gunshots being fired, police said.

The victim is expected to survive.

This was one of two shootings in the area Tuesday.

At a bout 3 p.m., shots were fired into a car travelling along Gosford Boulevard.

A woman was injured, but she is expected to be OK.
