Toronto FC defender Ahmed Kantari has been suspended for one game and fined for a forearm to the face that went undetected in Wednesday's 2-0 loss at New York City FC.

The ban was handed down Friday by the MLS Disciplinary Committee, which penalized Kantari for violent conduct that endangered the safety of an opponent.

The Moroccan international felled Spain's Angelino with a swinging arm to the face in stoppage time of the match at Yankee Stadium. The play was called back for an earlier foul.

In other disciplinary action, New England midfielder Lee Nguyen was fined for simulation in the 31st minute of the match against the New York Red Bulls.

MLS does not disclose the amount of its fines.
