TORONTO - Police are looking for additional victims after a Toronto school teacher was charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old student.

The suspect, who teaches at St. John the Evangelist Catholic School near Lawrence Avenue and Weston Road, was arrested on Tuesday for a crime police allege took place during the 2010-2011 school year.

Det. Const. Ya-Wen Yin, of 31 Division, told CP24.com that the man remains an employee of the Toronto Catholic District School Board, but is currently on summer vacation.

She said police took the unusual step of releasing his photo in the hopes that other potential victims might come forward.

"We have grounds to believe there may be more (victims) and that's why we have released his photo," she said.

Orlando Fusaro, 37, of Woodbridge, is charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference.

He made his first court appearance Wednesday morning.
