ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Three people died early today when a car slammed into a tree in a St. Catharines, Ont., cemetery and burst into flames.

Niagara Region police say speed was a factor in the crash just after 1 a.m. in the Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

Police say the car went out of control on an `S' bend, then left the road and slammed into a tree.

The car was quickly engulfed in flames, killing all three people inside.

Police are working to identify the victims and post mortem examinations have been scheduled.

No names have been released because relatives have yet to be notified.
