A Toronto police officer has been charged with assault after a 61-year-old man sustained a fracture while in custody.
The Special Investigations Unit laid the charge against Const. Mark Kennedy on Thursday following a lengthy investigation.
The incident occurred inside a holding cell in October and hadn't been previously reported by police.
Kennedy will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 26.
