The labour disruption at Canada Post will directly impact 48,000 commuters who subsribe to the TTC's Metropass Discount Plan.

The TTC said Tuesday it will not mail out the July metropass to subscribers because of the rotating strikes.

Instead, commuters will have to purchase the pass at subway kiosks and toll booths across town.

The MDP plan is for people who sign up for a pass for a 12-month period at a discounted price. Payments are pre-authorized and automatically withdrawn from the customer's account.

In this case, customers won't be billed for their July payment and the TTC will automatically credit all MDP subscribers' bank accounts $10. The $10-credit is the price difference between a regularly priced pass and the discounted one subscribers usually receive.

"With continuing labour disruptions at Canada Post, mailing the July Metropass made it uncertain that passes would reach TTC customers in time for use next month" The TTC said in a news release Tuesday. "Additional metropasses will be distributed to station collectors, pass vending machines and authorized fare media sellers for the month of July."

Customers can purchase their July metropasses on June 20.
