Two men have died in the crash of a small plane in central Ontario.

Const. Mark Kinney says provincial police were called shortly before 3 p.m. to a field east of Stayner in Clearview Township.

Kinney says the plane went down in a field south of Highway 26 near Sideroad 12/13.

Kinney says the bodies of the two men were found in the small, white, single-engine plane.

He says there's no evidence that there was a fire on impact and described the field as muddy.

Police have identified one of the men as a 47-year-old from Toronto and investigators are working to identify the second victim.
