MUNICH, Germany - U2 frontman Bono has undergone emergency back surgery.
A statement posted on the band's website said the singer was admitted to a specialist neurosurgery unit in a Munich hospital.
He is expected to spend the next few days there before returning home to recuperate.
A statement regarding upcoming tour dates is expected shortly.
The band's June 3 concert in Salt Lake City, Utah, has been postponed.
U2 is due to play Edmonton on June 23, Toronto July 3 and Montreal July 16-17.
