TORONTO -- Canadians hoping to pursue their culinary dreams will have their chance at a casting call for MasterChef Canada in Toronto next month.

Open casting calls for the second season of the popular CTV show will be held at 7 a.m. on July 12 and 13 at the InterContinental Toronto Hotel.

Aspiring "home cooks" may bring one prepared dish, which they will be given three minutes to plate before presenting to professional tasters.

Dishes will be judged on taste, plating, creativity, skill and food knowledge.

CTV is encouraging applicants to fill out an online application at CTV.ca/MasterChefCanada before arriving at their audition.

The first winner of the show, 21-year-old Eric Chong, won $100,000 in April and has said he plans to start his own upscale dim sum restaurant.
