Ultimate Fighting Championship fans are getting a chance to meet the stars of April's fight today with the athletes taking centre stage at the Rogers Centre.

UFC president Dana White and fighters Georges St-Pierre, Jose Aldo, Jake Shields, Mark Hominick, Claude Patrick and Sean Pierson are taking part in the free fan event.

It's the first chance for fans to meet and hear from the Mixed Martial Arts stars, along with an autograph session.

The event comes in anticipation of UFC 129 on April 30, which is the association's debut event in Toronto.

Fighter Jake Shields stopped by CP24 Breakfast Tuesday morning with some details on what fans can expect.

Meanwhile, welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre of Montreal, and Mark Hominick joined us in studio today.

St-Pierre says despite his success, his family still worries about him, and it's better when they come to see him in action.

Mark Hominick spoke about what playing in Ontario means to him and local fans. He says fans will get a chance to see how big of an event it really is.

Last August, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty made the announcement that the government would allow regulated MMA events to take place in the province after much controversy.

Tickets for UFC 129 go on sale on Saturday at 10 a.m. They range anywhere from $50 to $800 for floor seats.
