TORONTO - A 22-year-old man and 16-year-old boy are facing street racing charges in connection with a crash in Toronto that killed a teenage cyclist.

Police allege a Honda Civic and BMW sedan were racing in the city's northeast, at Sheppard Avenue East near Neilson Road, on Aug. 1 when the BMV struck a 17-year-old boy riding a bike.

Johan Vaz, 22, of Toronto, is charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be identified under youth justice laws, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and criminal negligence causing death.

Both schedule to appear in court in late October.
