A Brampton woman accused of performing botched Botox procedures has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

According to police, on July 7, the accused, who pretended to be a registered nurse with appropriate medical credentials, marketed her Botox injection services on Kijiji.

Police say she arranged to meet with clients at their home, their business or a hotel. The woman was also allegedly providing injection services at a business in the area of Kipling Avenue and The Queensway.

The clients would pay thousands in cash for the service, investigators say.

An investigation was launched after two people told police they had suffered an adverse reaction to the procedure, which police say could cause “long-term damaging effects.”

Shiva Ashkani, 30, of Brampton, was arrested on Sunday and charged with two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

Police say they believe there may be more victims and ask anyone who may have received this treatment from the accused to seek medical attention.
